The recipe selected for TWD this week is chipster-topped brownies. It is something that I'm not really fond of (i.e. chocolate cake), but it seems interesting to prepare because it consists of a layer of chocolate chip cookies on top of a thicker layer of brownies.
One minor problem I encountered was spreading of cookies dough on the brownies batter. It took me quite a while to get it done, but all in all, it's a simple and straightforward recipe.
I can't say that I like these chipster-topped brownies, as it's too chocolatey for my taste. But I like the crunchy (cookies) and moist (brownies) texture though.
Head over to Beth's blog if you want to give the recipe a try!

Sorry you didn't really like these, but you certainly did a magnificent job of making them.
chocolate.. chocolate... definitely my favourite!!
these look just the way i hoped mine would come out! i did not succeed, but glad to see you did!
Wow yours are picture perfect!
What a perfect picture of these! Even though you had trouble spreading the cookie layer, it turned out great!
Ahhhh! Piggy... your perfectionnism is amazing! I'm sure half of the TWD will not even have taken the time to really spread the cookie dough... But then again... you are Piggy and make everything just as beautiful, as neat.
Perfect!
Beautiful!! Bummer that you didn't like them that much. They look delicious!
Sorry you don't like these very much - I am a chocolate lover, so they were perfect for me! They look delish though!
Yours look perfect. I liked ours...just wish that they hadn't been raw in the middle.
oh I m drooling here :)
I've always wondered about this recipe, but have never given it a go. I'm a chocoholic, love brownies and cookies, so by default I think I should love this! :P
Stunning photography; you've convinced me to give this a go the soonest :)
how interesting to have a layer of choc chip cookies on top...is that more of a texture thing I wonder? to me it would be a tad too rich... nevertheless a very novel idea!
They look great. Too bad you didn't really like them.
Your chipster brownies look great. It took me awhile to spread the cookie dough over the brownie batter too.
I could see how the brownies would be a bit much. Maybe cut the ratio of brownie:cookie down a bit? That's what I did, and it helped quite a bit. Yours look pretty wonderful though!
Sorry you weren't crazy about them. Your pictures are beautiful!
Such a pity that I am not your neighbour. If not, I can help myself to all and leave you none.

Wow, your brownies look amazing! You can definitely see the distinction between the brownie and the cookie and how did you get your layers so straight! =)
This is lovely and I am drooling looking at it.
You may not have liked them but they look amazing! A cookie on top of a brownie sounds like heaven to me.
I'm on a search for the perfect brownie recipe and I think I'll give these a try! Your photos look beautiful! I hope someone at home ate those gorgeous brownies, the thought of them going to waste makes me want to fly over to your house to take them off your hands!
It was a pretty rich chocolately dessert. Good, but.....
Yours look just great.
